Former ICMR chief Soumya Swaminathan has publicly criticized Air India for her recent experience, labeling it a "terrible experience". In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she expressed her disappointment over being unable to upgrade her flight from Nairobi to Delhi despite being a loyal customer with sufficient mileage.
âTerrible experience with @airindia â trying to upgrade with miles/payment for my Nairobi to Delhi flight tomorrow. Despite being a loyal member, enough mileage & hours online & on phone â dead end. Reasons given are illogical â why should the customer suffer your irrationality?â
In response to her complaint, Air India acknowledged her concern and requested her booking details along with her Maharaja Club ID via direct message for assistance.
