Location: Homebased Contract: Fixed-term, part-time (1 full day or 2 half-days a week) Salary: £5,400 per annum (£27,000 full time equivalent) Closing Date: 20th February 2025 Are you an Administrator looking for a new opportunity? The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is the leading maritime charity for youth development and lifelong learning. We are currently looking for an Administrator to join our EDI team. About The Role Reporting to the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, the postholder will assist in the administration of training, arranging meetings and liaising with internal and external stakeholder groups. The postholder will have excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to details with the ability to manage a diverse workload on own initiative with limited supervision. Responsibilities
- Supporting the MSSC EDI Lead in the administration of training, meetings and stakeholder groups
- Responsible for minutes of meetings, committees and distribution
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on EDI to arrange meetings and event timings
- To undertake other administration tasks and general duties as required from time to time
- Working alongside HR, Safety and Safeguarding teams as required to ensure case management administration
- Occasional travel for meetings and attendance at evening/weekend events may be required
- Coordinating with UK-wide area teams to support their training facility booking needs.
Requirements
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Attention to detail
- Sound IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook and experience of using in-house databases
- Have strong data and analytics skills to enable collection, analysis, develop and implement solutions as appropriate
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Experience of general office administration including diary management
- Experience of working on own initiative with limited supervision
Desirable
- IT qualifications (e.g. ECDL, Microsoft Officer Certification or similar)
- Experience of working for a charity
