Simplified Trash and Recycling Services in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - As of February 1, 2025, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas (UG) has transferred all customer service responsibilities for trash and recycling to WM, the local service provider. This change aims to streamline the customer service process and enhance resident satisfaction.
Before this transition, the UG’s 311 call center handled all trash and recycling-related inquiries, which often resulted in delays, confusion, and declining satisfaction. According to Diana Miles, Solid Waste Manager, this new approach allows residents to connect directly with WM, ensuring that service concerns are promptly addressed by the appropriate team.
Reporting Trash and Recycling Issues
Residents now have three convenient options for reporting trash and recycling issues:
- Visit WM’s website
- Call WM at 1-800-796-9696
- Download WM’s app on Android or iOS
This switch is expected to significantly improve the reporting process and facilitate quicker resolutions of service problems. For more detailed information, you can check the UG’s informational page.
